VERY RARE! Antique/Vintage 1890\'s to 1925 Embossed Morley Bros. \"WEDGEWAY\" \"Hand Made\" \"UNSURPASSED\" Lathing Hatchet.Up for sale is this VERY RARE! Antique/Vintage 1890\'s to 1925 Embossed Morley Bros. \"WEDGEWAY\" \"Hand Made\" \"UNSURPASSED\" Lathing Hatchet (see pics & video). From my research, this embossing was used from the 1890\'s to 1925.. Morley Bros. was a BIG Hardware store located in Saginaw, Michigan. This hatchet head was probably made by Kelly Axe & Tool Comp. Or another manufacture from that era?? NOTE: Post 1925 axe heads were embossed with MMHCo. ((Morley-Murphy Hardware Co.). This hatchet head has a clear and deep embossing that reads: \"MORLEY BROS. WEDGEWAY HAND MADE UNSURPASSED\" on the side of the hatchet head (see pics). The 2-1/8\" wide bit has some minor chips and nicks on it, and it also looks like it still might have the original factory ground cutting edge on it too (see pics). The hatchet head has a very unique single phantom bevel also (see pics). The waffled hammer face is well used, and is also missing piece of steel around the edge of the hammer head face (see pics). There\'s a few very very minor scratches and dings on the hatchet head hear and there also (see pics). I don\'t believe the handle is original to the hatchet head (see pics). But I do like the looks of it mounted to the hatchet head (see pics). As you can see the handle does have a 3\" long crack in it from the head down the handle, and some other stains and dings on it too (see pics). The hatchet head is securely mounted to the handle, not loose at all (see pics). The hatchet is 13\" long. And the hatchet head is 6\" long. You will not be disappointed at all in thisVERY RARE!
