RICHARD NIXON Bust Vintage Wax Candle Sculpture Political Caricature 1970s Rare:
$150.00

Very hard to find 1970\'s-era sculptural wax caricature bust of President Richard Nixon that is also a candle.
This weird and wacky novelty hand-carved, hand-painted caricature of Nixon is made of solid wax and depicts him smiling with shifty eyes, exaggerated jowls and a ridiculously long ski nose. The top of his head has a wick in case you want to light it as a candle. This has never been lit (thank goodness) so the head is in its original shape with no melted areas.
It measures 9\" tall by 5\" wide by 7\" deep, and weighs 3.25 lbs.
Pieces like these were made in small batches and few survive due to the fragile nature of the wax. There are no maker\'s marks but this was likely made as a campaign promo when Nixon was President. It\'s a masterpiece of political cartooning and a must have for Nixon fans and political memorabilia collectors.
