God's covenant to humankind never to bring on the destruction of all people was symbolized by a rainbow in the sky. The rainbow has since come to symbolize so much more, including the covenant the Divine holds with marginalized peoples. This stole is my artistic representation of a "Road of Hope" as we seek to reconcile all things to creation, as we seek to finally accept that all people are holy creations of God.
This is based on the ancient are of "papercraft" or "papercut" artwork, which gives it the appearance of sections of cut paper situated in a way that creates an almost 3 dimensional image. The artwork was digitally created by me and can not be found anywhere else in any form. Though it does appear as though it is many layers, it is actually pigmented dye on fabric!
What makes this stole very special is how it was made - this is a special face fabric which I designed and printed in-house - you will NOT find another anywhere else. I printed this using a photo-real high definition professional printer on specialty fabric with heavily pigmented dye. I have made stoles like this out of individually colored fabric, but to do so would cost 5 times as much (which is why rainbow stoles are so expensive).
The front of the stole is made of percale cotton - This fabric is smooth without a sheen. Because it is natural, the colors are bright and impressive. Has a similar feel to a men's dress shirt. Beautiful fabric for this piece. Other front fabrics are available - see my other listings!
The reverse side of the stole is a navy or black twill fabric. There is a fleece or flannel inner fabric to add dimension and help the stole lay flat on the body. You can iron the stole. Spot clean with water.
The exact measurements of the stole can be taken upon request, but it is a normal length stole appropriate length for those 5'5" through about 6', more or less depending on personal preference. This stole length could be altered if necessary (The dress form length in the image is the equivalent to someone who is about 5'7") but it would change the color variation if it is shortened. There are no denominational markings or symbols on the stole. The stole is rounded behind the neck to ensure a comfortable fit.
The width of the stole varies from about 3.5-4" wide near the neck and 4.75-5.5 inches wide at the bottom. The dress form in the image represents a male with a 40" bust/chest measurements - the broadness of your shoulders will effect the appearance of the width of the stole when worn.
I am an ordained minister by trade - I am not a professional tailor, seamstress, etc. Every stole I make will have minute imperfections, and it will retain the feel of an organic hand-made item.

Please note that ALL stoles are created to order - I do not generally keep a finished "stock". I am able to fulfill most percale cotton orders within 2 business days, but it can take up to 5 (plus shipping) and Silk orders within 5 business days (plus shipping). It takes 1 - 3 days, depending on the material, for the pigment to "set" and this process can not be sped up. Etsy lists items as “in stock” even when they are made to order - there is nothing I can do to change this. I do not keep stock on hand.
If you order expedited shipping, this does not expedite the creation of the stole - only the speed in which the post office delivers your order! If you need a stole for a certain occasion or by a certain date, CONTACT ME before ordering so I can confirm that meeting that date is possible - do NOT rely in Etsy's estimate, as sellers have no control over their calculations!
I can customize length, but please realize that telling me your height doesn't mean you will receive the length you are thinking about in your head. There is no set or official stole length, and this depends on preference. Because my designs are created to be the length of the stole, shortening after the fact will also cut off the bottom portion of the design.
As with ALL of my items - you have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you aren't satisfied with the value for your purchase, I will completely refund your money NO QUESTIONS ASKED. (OK - I will probably ask why you want to return it so that I can avoid the mistake again - but it won't change the result!) You may return it for any reason whatsoever. If you don't feel that your stole is up to par for the price you paid, you just let me know and we can either work something out or you may return the stole and receive a refund.
