Here we have a rare 19th-century antique advertising wooden shipping crate with lidand four original paper labels for store display of Oberne-Hosick Co. (Chicago, IL, USA) O.-H. Co\'s No. 83 Pressed Castile Toilet Soaps. Offered as-found, as-is. Very clean and fresh piece, will arrive ready for display. Please see complete condition report below for important details.
We have quite a few more advertising crates as well as other types of advertising in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we\'re always happy to combine shipping at actual cost when it is feasible. When purchasing multiple items, please choose \"ADD TO CART\" instead of \"buy now\" and check-out from the cart when you are completely done shopping with us. If the checkout fails to properly combine your orders or, as it is very apt to do, overcharges you for combined shipping, we will issue a refund for the difference between what you paid for shipping, and the actual cost of the shipping, on the day that we ship your package. (We don\'t find out the actual cost of combined shipping until we purchase the shipping label.)With larger pieces such as advertising crates, there isn\'t always any savings to be had by combining shipping because of fees added by shipping companies for oversized boxes. We will combine when it makes sense to do so, and ship separately when it does not.
Approximate measurements: 4.5\" tall x 8.5\" wide x 14.5\" long
Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best and are the most important part of the description--please enlarge and zoom in on them and examine them carefully. Clean and fresh piece, definitely not a barn find, having nothing sticky or gross, and no funky odors. Lid present, but not attached (and we\'re not certain that it was ever supposed to remain attached for store display.) Fouroriginal paper labels present: the top/exterior of the lid; and three of the four exterior sides each have one as well. To protect and preserve the labels, the collector loosely covered each side on which they appear with a piece of plexiglass. This was done with simple short screws, that can easily be removed, if you so desire, without causing any additional damage to the crate. They will definitely help to keep the labels safe during shipping, so we\'re going to leave them right there for now. Overall numerous flaws contributing to the making of this crate \"primitive,\" including cracks, chips, label loss, fading, etc. Solid and stable piece holding together just fine, not too fragile for stacking and displaying.Offered as-is, but also AND as-described.
We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we\'ll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
