Red Starr Sioux Black Sgrafitto Miniature Pot with Inlaid Blue Stone:
$575.00

This is a beautiful Native American produced miniature pot by Red Starr who specialized in hand etching on the traditional black on black, Santa Clara pottery. He etched animals, feathers, bear paws, and many other different designs. He accents his pottery with turquoise stones. This tiny pot has been intricately etched with feathers and a bear. There is a line of inlaid pieces of blue stone below the rim and one inlaid piece in the center of the piece. The base has been etched with his name Red Starr Sioux with an arrow etched below his name with two stars, one on each side of and below the arrow. Also etched into the clay are the numbers 89w - 11. This pot was likely produced in 1989. It was purchased in New Mexico in 1996. It has been owned by one person (me) who kept it in a closed glass display case from the time it was purchased. It has been in a non-smoking environment. It is in like new condition. It measures 3 inches in height and is 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The opening measures only one half inch in diameter. This is a very nice piece and part of a collection I am reducing in size.
