• Found this in the 1980s while swimming in a small Maine lake.
• Its my understanding the lake once had a small wood mill on the far end of it back at the turn of the century.
• I have a vague childhood memory of having sent it off to someone at a local university for them to suggest their best guess was that it was a wet grinding stone that the mill would have used; I guess I am not 100% convinced so here it is for you all to comment on or make your own.
• The base is 7.5" x 7.5" x 8.25" , the base lip is approximately 1" thick. And its stands approximately 4" Tall overall.
• Looks to have an accidental chip off the top.
• Interestingly the grain-structure on the base is slightly unique and different of that of the upper pyramid shape.
•. Item is NOT magnetic and will not attract a magnet.
Its definitely a denser/heavier stone.
• Certainly cant be a naturally occurring stone given its triangular base and perfectly placed pyramid within that footprint.
• I package well and ship out daily.
