Historical background

The First National Bank of Hollywood was located at 2001 Hollywood Boulevard in downtown Hollywood, Florida. The original bank building opened in 1927 and became part of the city\'s early commercial history. During the 1970s, the institution was still operating under the First National Bank of Hollywood name. In 1981, the bank was acquired by Flagship Banks and became part of Flagship National Bank of Broward. The building later housed SunTrust Bank for decades.

The original building underwent several major renovations over its lifetime and was eventually demolished for redevelopment. Plans for the new development included preserving the historic bank vault, a surviving remnant of the original structure.
