Up for sale is a beautifully preserved, 100% authentic World War II U.S. Army M-1944 Wool Field Jacket (the iconic "Ike Jacket") paired with its matching wool garrison/overseas cap.
This set is a collector's dream, boasting rare sizing and excellent historical traceability features.
FEATURES & HIGHLIGHTS:
• The Jacket: M-1944 pattern heavyweight olive drab wool. Features original hidden button fly, pleated chest pockets, functional waist snaps, and adjustable side tabs. Rare "38L" (38 Long) sizing.
• The Rank: Original period-correct embroidered Corporal (CPL) chevrons neatly hand-stitched onto the sleeves.
• The Cap: Matching wool garrison cap with its original white Quartermaster contract tag fully intact. Manufactured by "Omaha Cap & Hat Mfg. Co." and dated March 18, 1944 (Philadelphia Q.M. Depot). Desirable large size 7 3/8.

CONDITION REPORT:
The set is in exceptional vintage condition. The wool is thick, sturdy, and retains vibrant coloration. There is 2 very minor, small moth nips on a front pocket pleat crease (visible in photos), but no major holes, tears, or heavy staining. Lining is fully intact and clean. Snaps and buttons are original and functional. the second button on each sleeve are attached with a safety pin. they both need to be re sewed on.
