Vintage 1950s Chartreuse Green Pixie / Elf Figurines – Matching Set of Four- Gilner Pottery
Charming and wonderfully whimsical matching collection of four vintage ceramic pixie/elf figurines, believed to date to the 1950s Mid-Century era.
The set is finished in a striking glossy chartreuse/lime-green glaze with cream faces, pointed ears, rosy cheeks, red lips and wonderful hand-painted facial details. Each pixie has a different personality and pose:
• Kneeling pixie with hands clasped beneath the chin• Playful acrobatic pixie lying down with legs raised• Seated pixie resting its head against one hand• Kneeling female pixie in a flared skirt with hands raised near her face
Displayed together, the four make an especially fun example of the fanciful 1950s California pixie aesthetic associated with Mid-Century novelty pottery.
