Vintage 1968 Zippo Lighter Hickory Steel Iron Co Advertising North Carolina
Up for sale is a genuine vintage 1968 Zippo pocket lighter featuring rare corporate advertising for the Hickory Steel and Iron Company based out of Hickory, North Carolina.
About the Company History
Hickory Steel and Iron Company represents a significant piece of regional mid-century industrial history from Western North Carolina. Established during a booming post-war era of infrastructure and growth, the company played a crucial role in providing structural steel and metal fabrication to support the rapidly expanding local textile mills, brickworks, and the world-famous Hickory furniture manufacturing boom. The emblem etched directly onto the face of this lighter showcases their historical logo, cleverly wrapping the letters H, S, and I around a classic structural steel I-beam layout.
