The front features a charming black-and-white illustration of a cozy fireplace decorated for Christmas with stockings, bookshelves, and holiday décor, along with the verse:
\"Now strike the fire and close the shutters fast, let fall the curtain, wheel the sofa \'round, so to its welcome peaceful ev\'ning.\"
Unlike an unused greeting card, this example contains a handwritten Christmas letter inside, making it a unique piece of vintage holiday ephemera. The letter is dated December 25, 1978 and provides a personal snapshot of the holiday season, adding historical and collectible interest.
