Disston no.4 10” Dovetail Saw, Restored and Ready To Go!
Another one saved from the tool graveyard. This is a very nice Disston no.4 10” dovetail saw. I believe this one was manufactured between 1928-1942, before Disston reorganized the company in 1944.
Like every tool I restore, I try my best to preserve the most history as I can, while making it preform better than it did new. The plate is dead straight and does have a very light etch, but it is really tough to see in pictures. I refilled the 15ppi plate to a rip pattern, with a 7° rake and .004” of set. Cuts like it has something to prove and tracks exceptionally well.
This is a great saw for both the collection and use. You will smile everytime you pull the saw out to cut some joinery!
I do my absolute best to describe the items the best I can, so please make sure to look at all of the photos. I try to provide as much detail as possible, as the pictures are a key part of the description. Any questions that you may have, please let me know!
