Vintage Electrolux Model XXX / Model 30 canister vacuum cleaner, featuring the iconic streamlined design introduced in 1937 and associated with noted American industrial designer Lurelle Guild.
This classic Electrolux design is known for its wonderful Art Deco / Streamline Moderne styling, including the torpedo-shaped body, chrome trim, large red ELECTROLUX badge, arched carrying handle, and distinctive sled-style tubular runners.
Included with this listing:
* Electrolux Model XXX / Model 30 vacuum canister
* Two vintage packages of Very Best B disposable vacuum cleaner bags
No power cord, hose, wand, floor tools, or other accessories are included.
UNTESTED — POWER CORD IS NOT INCLUDED.
The vacuum was acquired without its detachable power cord, so I have been unable to test the motor or operation. It is therefore being sold as untested, with no guarantee of functionality. Please purchase with that understanding.
The vacuum is in vintage pre-owned condition and displays very nicely from the primary side. It retains its striking original Electrolux badge, textured body covering, chrome trim, handle and runners.
There is age-related cosmetic wear throughout, including scratches, scuffs, oxidation/tarnish and wear to the metal surfaces. The underside/back shows heavier cosmetic wear, including areas of finish loss and remnants of an old identification label. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
Approximate dimensions:
24” long × 7.5” wide × 9” high
Weight: approximately 13.3 lbs.
The Model XXX/30 design was introduced in 1937 and remained in production for a number of years. Because the original identification label on this example is largely missing, no specific manufacture year is being claimed.
A fantastic example of vintage American industrial design and an eye-catching display piece for an Electrolux, vintage appliance, Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, mid-century, or industrial-design collection.
Sold exactly as pictured.
I especially like this wording because we’re not overclaiming the date or functionality, but we’re still giving buyers the Lurelle Guild/design-history information that makes this particular old vacuum interesting.
