Vintage French Miniature silk-covered doll cradle on cardboard For Sale

A miniature cradle built on a card frame and covered entirely in silk ribbon, the hood rising in a deep arch over the head and the whole edged with ruched and pleated ribbon. Inside, a cotton mattress fills the length of the base and a small pillow sits under the hood, trimmed with a band of fine lace. Ribbon ties hang loose at the foot. Cradles of this kind were made for a small doll, and the underside shows the plain card with its pink paper edging, unlined and unmarked.Condition: the silk has shattered along almost every edge, fraying into loose threads and hanging fragments, heaviest around the hood and across the foot, and some of the ruching has come away from its stitching. The mattress and pillow are soiled, with scattered brown spotting and staining through the cotton. The lace is dirty and weak. The card structure underneath is sound and square, and the hood holds its shape.Measurements: 4 in long, 3 in wide, 2.5 in high.
