I noticed the Quaker Oats Turmeric label was slightly torn in a few places, revealing some orange underneath. Out of curiosity, I started carefully peeling it back and discovered this old IGA Pumpkin Pie Spice tin hidden underneath.I think this may have been an older tin that was reused and relabeled many years ago, possibly to save materials. Both labels appear to have quite a bit of age, so I don’t believe this was done recently. The IGA tin features a colorful pumpkin design, the original IGA logo, and a 1935 copyright date.I’m not exactly sure why the tin was relabeled, but I think it’s a pretty interesting piece of advertising history. I’ve personally never come across another one quite like it.The remaining Quaker label is still partially attached, and the removed pieces will be included.Please see all photos for details.
