Vintage Parker 75 Godron Fountain Pen – Rare c. 1970-1971 French Transition Model, 30µ Heavy Silver Plate, 14K Gold Medium Nib

Up for sale is a magnificent and chronologically distinct example of the Parker 75 Godron fountain pen, manufactured at Parker’s legendary production facility in Meru, France.

Part of the esteemed Place Vendôme collection, the "Godron" pattern introduces deep parallel fluted vertical grooves that catch the light beautifully, highlighting the deep contrast of the silver-plated finish.

This particular pen is a textbook circa 1970–1971 design crossover model, capturing a precise evolutionary window in Parker’s history.

It features a fascinating mix of original first-generation styling and improved early-70s internal hardware ensuring its authenticity:

• The Cap Band:

Hallmarked with the official French poinçon de maître (maker's mark) and stamped "30μ", designating a heavy, luxurious 30-micron silver plating reserved for early French-market productions.

• The Section collar: Retains the early-style metal reference ring with the zero-mark layout line and incremental numbers—a feature completely removed by Parker France in late 1971.

• The Transition Hardware: Outfitted with the updated black plastic section threads and indented (dished) metal tassies introduced right at the turn of the decade to ensure a reliable barrel seal.

Nib & Writing Unit:

The pen is equipped with a smooth, beautifully preserved wrap-around solid 14K Gold Medium ("M") nib unit. While standard Fine nibs comprise the majority of the market, this factory Medium variant offers a smooth, reliable ink flow that is highly sought-after by modern enthusiasts and casual writers alike.

As shown in the included live writing sample photo, the pen is a beautiful, wet writer. It handles quick loops, continuous cursive scripts, and rapid strokes flawlessly without skipping, hard-starting, or stalling. The feed undercarriage is clearly stamped with the traditional US-profile "M" marker.

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition.

The silver-plated fluting shows fantastic, mirrored luster across both the cap and barrel with no prominent dents, deep gouges, or plate loss.

The gripping section lines and zero-dial ring are crisp, clean, and rotate freely as intended.

A superb, verified addition for any historical vintage pen collection or a daily writer looking for an exceptionally elegant milestone in French engineering.

Note: Please review the included high-resolution photos carefully, as they serve as the exact visual representation of the pen’s cosmetic quality and hallmark stamps.
