Vintage roofing/shingling style hatchet with an old steel head rehandled by me using a vintage Hartwell Hickory handle, giving this piece a clean restored look while keeping plenty of honest working-tool character.The head is an unmarked with custom blued finish, visible age, wear, patina, surface marks, and edge wear from prior use. It has a hatchet-style cutting edge on one side and a hammer/poll style working end on the opposite side, making it a great piece for vintage tool collectors, display, restoration-minded users, or anyone who appreciates old working tools brought back into service.The handle is a vintage 12” Hartwell Hickory handle with the original Hartwell Hickory stamp still visible. The handle has been fitted to the head and shows nice grain, warm color, and honest handling marks. Since the re-handle work was done by me, this should be considered a user-restored/rehandled vintage tool rather than a factory-original example.Overall, this is a great-looking vintage tool with a lot of character.
