Up for sale is a rare piece of mid-century retail history: an authentic, vintage Saks Fifth Avenue 1/2 Gross (Half Gross) Pencil Box containing 44 original, unused pencils.
Originally designed to hold 72 pencils, this partial set includes 44 unsharpened, round dark blue wood-cased graphite pencils. Each pencil features the elegant, gold-stamped vintage Saks Fifth Avenue script logo. Several pencils still retain their original bright blue "Quality pencils / Smooth writing" paper bundle belly bands.
