Charming vintage handmade Swedish wooden candelabra or candleholder. This four-light candleholder is a wonderful example of traditional Swedish Allmoge folk style, with a gracefully shaped wooden body, turned candle cups and a sculptural pedestal base.The wood is finished in a beautiful deep forest green, allowing the natural grain to remain visible beneath the color. The front is decorated by hand with a central white daisy surrounded by delicate white flowers, leafy sprigs and yellow-green accents. The simple, freehand floral painting gives the piece wonderful Scandinavian folk-art character.Designed to hold four taper candles, it measures approximately 12 inches long and 5 inches tall. Its dark green finish and traditional Swedish character make it especially appealing for Scandinavian Christmas and winter decorating, while the floral decoration makes it suitable for display throughout the year.The piece is unmarked, as shown on the underside.Very good vintage condition. It shows light, age-appropriate wear to the painted/stained finish, including minor surface marks, edge wear and areas of rubbing, particularly on the underside. There is some old candle/wax residue inside the candle cups from previous use. These signs of age are consistent with the piece’s vintage character and do not detract from its display.
