Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic Vintage Tohono O'odham (historically Papago) Coiled Basket Bowl. This exceptional piece features a classic geometric fret / stepped design radiating out from a solid center coil, complete with a beautifully executed dark herringbone-stitch rim finish.
Provenance:
This piece is fresh to the market and comes directly from my uncle’s private collection of Native American art and Southwestern artifacts. It has been carefully stored in a smoke-free home environment.
Materials & Construction:
Expertly hand-coiled using traditional native Sonoran desert materials. The lighter cream/tan structural coils are split yucca fibers, while the bold, dark brown/black geometric pattern is woven using devil's claw.

Condition Details:
In excellent vintage condition with no major missing stitches, split foundations, or structural fading. The weave remains tight, and the fibers have taken on a gorgeous, warm natural patina over the decades.
