Amazing find - original vintage paper textbook covers from "THE CO-OP, State and Lake, Madison, Wisconsin". This store was most likely then precursor to the current University Bookstore, which is currently at this location. Also advertised is the "Technical Book Store, 1325 University Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin".
Items advertised for sale include pennants, fountain pens, slide rules, medical student supplies, trade books, dictionaries, college outlines and art supplies.
These book covers were used to help protect the textbook cover, as these textbooks were often sold at the end of the semester.
A great item from the 1940's related to the University of Wisconsin and original bookstores of the area.
