WWI-era Imperial German S98/05 n.A. “Butcher Blade” bayonet, manufactured by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. (WKC), Solingen.
Features grooved wood grips, metal flashguard, hooked quillon and fullered blade. Comes with steel scabbard and leather frog/holder.
Blade measures approximately 14.5 inches, with an overall bayonet length of about 20 inches.
The bayonet is in antique, as-found condition. Blade has age-related oxidation. . Metal fittings show patina m. Wood grips remain intact and show normal wear. Scabbard has finish wear and oxidation, and the leather frog shows age and use. No attempt has been made to polish or restore it.
Maker markings include Weyersberg / Kirschbaum / Solingen. Please review all photographs carefully for markings, completeness and exact condition.
