Bird's eye rhyolite (often marketed as bird's eye jasper) is a distinct volcanic rock characterized by orbicular, concentric ring patterns that resemble the eyes of a bird. Geologically, it is a silica-rich extrusive igneous rock formed when lava cools rapidly, trapping pockets of mineral-rich fluids that create its unique swirled bands of yellow, red, brown, and sometimes green.
