vintage Sparton 6-26 Table Radio AM/SW-New capacitors, Amateur Refinish, Works For Sale

The vintage "tube-type" Sparton 6-26 Table Radio is a collectible piece from the United States, featuring a classic AM/SW design. This particular radio has been refurbished with new capacitors and an amateur refinish, ensuring it works perfectly for any radio enthusiast looking to add a piece of history to their collection. Perfect for display or practical use, this Sparton radio is a unique and nostalgic find for anyone with a love for vintage electronics. All wax paper capacitors and electrolytic capacitors were replaced. The power cord has also been replaced. The controls have been cleaned using Deoxit and are smooth, without any noticeable scratchiness. The grille fabric was replaced and is not original. The radio has an RCA type input for connecting an older HiFi (not stereo) phonograph. There's an antenna screw on the rear of the chassis for attaching a long wire antenna. When a long wire antenna is attached, it pulls in shortwave stations very well. (I used about a 10' antenna wire and it did great) The AM works as it should. I got this radio non-working, as a project to repair and refinish. The finish is not perfect. (See Photos) I've had my fun with it and now it's time for someone else to enjoy. I'm not sure of the age of the radio, but I'd guess it's probably mid 1940's. Selling As-Is, due to its age.
