Handsomefold-out 1946 Richfield map of New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine,printed more than 69 years ago.The map opens to 27" x 20" and hasgreat detail on old highway alignments, route numbers, and roadsurfaces, with cartography by Rand McNally.On the reverse side there is a map of the eastern and central United States, from Maine to Florida,west to Montana and Texas.The map was distributed by the Crown Petroleum Corporation of Springfield, Massachusetts in 1946 and is dated by the code in the lower margin: 463633V.Crown was a petroleum jobber anddistributor of Richfield gasoline and Richlube motor oil in New England. (Crown may also have distributed forother oil companies as well. A vintage photograph recently offered on showed a Crown tank truck makinga delivery to a Gulf station in Brattleboro, Vermont.) The cover graphics on this map also feature Richfield's distinctiveeagle symbol and a yellow-and-blue Richfield service station.Condition: This map is in very good, lightly usedcondition, with norips, tears, or writing.
