Tank and seat arefiberglass ; handlebars are scramblestype; battery is mounted between theforks. Ignition system is fed directlyfrom a CL-77 battery. The starter wasremoved, and a CB-77 tappet cover wasused to cover the opening. Swing arm isextended one inch. Megaphones areV-12-1% inch; y2 inch was cut endsto give high-speed performance. Tires arePirelli 4:00 x 18’s.The firm’s rider is Monte Darling, (num-ber 4 in District 37), who will test thebike on a drag strip.From its first introduction severalmonths ago, the Honda 450 with its dualoverhead cams has stirred unprecedentedinterest among competition riders. Carb veloc-ity stacks are by Webco.Tank is sculptured and peaked with fiberglass.Knee pads are removed and panels sunken in.SHOCK TREATMENT. Bottom covers were chromedand placed over top of chromed springs. Chain-guard is also plated.Fenders have been chopped, front and rear.License plate is relocated on fender.
