Short Bed Two Wheel Drive360 V8 Automatic
I bought this last year from the 86 year old lady who was the original owner. It was bought new in Reno, NV. She then moved around the south west and Mexico for a time and ultimately retired here in Arizona nearly 30 years ago. Life and work has gotten busy for me in the last few months with no end in sight and I haven\'t had the time to devote to it and that is why I am selling it.
The truck looks bad because as she got older she couldn\'t see well and every time she bumped into something she would have her neighbor spray paint the area. From what I have been told there might be ways to strip just that layer of paint off leaving behind the original finish. The only spots of rust I can find on the truck are very small spots in the floor pans. The inner fender on the passenger side where the battery mount needs to be replaced as well as over the years battery acid has done a number on it. The body mounts look good.
The interior of the truck is very original short of a few switches added here and there over the years. The seat is heavily worn on the drivers side and the door panel arm rests are missing.
Mechanical the truck is very sound. It starts easily and runs very well. It turns and stops as it should for a 50 year old truck with manual brakes and steering. The suspension functions well and isn\'t sloppy. The headlights, turn signals, brake lights and running lights work.
The camper shell is from something else and doesn\'t fit perfectly. I left it on simply to store all the extras she included with the sale of the truck. Under the carpet in the bed you can see the bed floor is in good shape as the truck was never used hard.
These trucks are growing in value and although the body has bumps and bruises I think that is a minor concern. The value in this truck is that it is an original owner truck that hasn\'t been modified for decades by droves of people.
