This is gorgeous print from the mid-1880s. It is of EXTREMELY high quality with lots of smooth details. You can see the plate imprint. Probably the high-end intaglio printing process. The artist is George D. Leslie.
It depicts a beautiful girl proudly hugging her Border Terrier (or possibly Norfolk Terrier) puppy. Let me know if you think I got the breed ID wrong.
Below the picture is a caption that reads:
"Young Mother Hubbard "
Included is a separate page with descriptive text about the artist and the picture.
The back of the print is blank. The paper is thick and lucious.
The page measures approx.16.5 x11 inches. The picture area is smaller than this, as can be seen in the photos.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
The pagehas afew oldfingerpirntsmudges in the bottom left portionof the white margin area. It does notreach the picture area and could be trimmed. See scan.
