Lovely Art Deco Vintage Brass Tone Ladies Rouge and Powder Compact by Mondaine, NY USA

c1920s to 30s

Some surface scuffs, wear

Rouge residue

Inner mirror loose

2 1/4 inches x 2 3/8 inches x 3/8 inches thick.

Almost no powder residue

Compact is magnetic (steel construction)

Two inner lids, powder lid fastens well, rouge lid is loose

Hinged compact lid

Original powder puff with powder residue adhering

Engraved/signed on inner rouge lid Mondaine

Raised Art Deco architectural arrow fleur decor on compact face, side edges raised pyramid teeth detail

Mondaine were located in NY USA & were known for producing book-look leather clad compacts in the 1920s to 1930s and rectangular Cig Vanette Demi-Purses (with straps). Were only in business about 8 years and were acquired by Foster Inc in 1937.
