Named the Harbor View House, it was formerly theArmy and Navy Y.M.C.A. Itis a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (HCM #252) located in the San Pedrosection of Los Angeles, California, near the Port of Los Angeles. It is afive-story Spanish Colonial Revival style structure located on a bluffoverlooking the harbor. The Army and Navy Y.M.C.A. was dedicated in 1926 as arecreation center for servicemen at Fort MacArthur, offering 300 dormitoryrooms, a gymnasium, running track, banquet room, patio, pool, boxing andwrestling rooms and a coffee shop. The facility was converted to civilian usein 1947, offering accommodations to young travelers and senior citizens. Since1967, it has been known as Harbor View House, offering housing for the mentallyill. SSSS stamp box. (1924-29). Clean and unposted. See scans.
