Item: RARE Swedish M.P. Leather Pants
Description: WOW!!! What an incredible find! I love being a \"Picker\" because I stumble upon items such as this! These are Vintage Mid-Century Swedish Military Police Motorcycle Suspender Bib Pants by a Swedish Company named \"OLJON SKINNVAROR MALUNG\". Below are detailed dimensions. These are VERY Thick Black Leather Lined With Gray Wool. Obviously, these were made to Keep the Rider VERY WARM! Notice all of the Exterior Pockets and Buckles. There\'s even a Lower Leg Calf Pocket as well. The Design of them is obviously not like regular pants. They have suspender belts and a Bib that comes up the chest a bit over stomach when worn and fit properly. Sort of like a fisherman\'s waders. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item.
What Year Are These From: I was told from the last owner these are from 1930\'s. I disagree though. Although I cannot say precisely, I am VERY confident they date from 1940-55 at the latest. I cannot find any other identical pants from this company for sale, but I\'ve found Old Motorcycle Jackets on the internet from OLJON and those date Early 1950\'s. Personally if I had to guess a precise year I\'d say just after WW2 - 1945ish.
Overall Length from Top of Pants High Back to Bottom of Leg (not including suspenders): 49\". From Waist to End of Leg: 39.5\". Inseam (measured from crotch to end of leg): 28.5\". Width Measured Across Front Waist Belt Line: 18\" which is approx. a 36-38\" Waist Line. Suspender Belts Measured From Shoulder to Bib Button: 19.5\". Overall Weight: 6.13 Pounds. Yes, these are INCREDIBLY HEAVY & TOUGH AS NAILS!
Condition: On a scale of 1 - 10 (Ten being New in Package Only), I can confidentlygrade this item\'s condition to be a solid 7.5. Overall and Especially for being 55+ Years Old, these Collectible Motorcycle Pants are in Very Good Condition. They are No Less than 80% Immaculate. Surely though, they could be cleaned further if you want to break out the Leather Solvents/Cleansers as well. Other than dusting off, I have left them in their Original Condition. They were stored quite well so it wasn\'t an issue. The main sign of wear to these are some sporadic missing buttons, Curled Straps, Couple Button Hole Tears and White Paint spots towards bottom of legs. For what its worth, the paint seems like it can be painstakingly cleaned off. I removed a tiny portion by scraping it. I stopped for fear of damaging the leather under it though. At least 85% of the Leather is VERY VERY HEALTHY. By \"Healthy\" I mean NOT Dried Out, Corroded. The other 15\" mainly consists of the straps which are dry, but not yet brittle. If someone applied some Leather Moisturizer to these areas, it would do wonders. But, they surely have a much tougher \"Vibe\" being a little stiff as they are now. Overall you will find some sporadic TINY nicks/scrapes but certainly ZERO Large Tears/Holes or signs of an accident. The Wool Interior and Original Maker\'s Label are SUPERB but the wool probably isn\'t as thick as it once was \"back in the day\"! My photos are anaccurate depiction of this item\'s TRUECondition.
