Up for sale is a gorgeous, full-sized antique Victorian-era writing instrument shell. This piece measures a rare 5 7/8 inches long and features an intricate, deeply embossed floral repousse pattern set against a stippled background contrast.
Condition Details:
• Cosmetics: Excellent antique structural condition. There are no visible dents, crushed spots, or deep gashes along the thin-walled barrel. The tiered crown finial is completely intact.
• Mechanism: This listing is for the hollow solid silver shell only. The original internal telescoping/propelling mechanical components have been removed over time. The tip opening is pinhole-sized, originally meant for standard vintage graphite lead.
• Metal Verification: The piece is unmarked but has been thoroughly tested. The inner barrel walls are completely white/silver (no base metal or brass exposure), it is completely non-magnetic, and it rubs away genuine dark silver-sulfide tarnish on a dry cloth.
A magnificent survivor, perfect for a historical pen restoration project, conversion into a luxury pendant/necklace charm, or a high-end protective travel casing for custom modern slim components. Please review all macro photographs for detail.
