Fanta Spessartine Garnet Vein Slab - Natural Crystal Seam on Granitic Matrix ... For Sale

Most garnet matrix pieces show scattered crystals across a surface. This one tells a different story. A distinct vein of deep amber-to-cognac spessartine garnets runs diagonally across the full length of this elongated slab, following the original fracture zone where mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids once flowed and crystallized. It\'s essentially a cross-section of garnet formation in action — geology made visible. The matrix here is finer-grained than typical pegmatite, closer to aplite or fine granite, giving the piece a sophisticated, almost architectural quality. The garnets themselves are plump, well-formed dodecahedrons with strong resinous luster and that characteristic warm amber that shifts between orange and cognac depending on the light. Scattered silvery mica flakes catch light across the matrix, and sharp eyes will spot small teal-blue crystal patches nestled among the garnets — possibly fluorapatite, adding a quiet third color to the composition.
