This is the original ParaLabs Depicting Thoughts set. Thomas and Rainer built a picture-card system and then wrote the book that made them a name in mentalism.
You hand a spectator a postcard showing a seemingly random collection of images. You ask her to think of one picture that connects to a personal memory. She does not tell you the image, write it down, or give anything away.
You begin to describe the sensations surrounding her memory. You detail the height, the sounds, the feeling of the sea, and the colors in her mind. Slowly, you build a complete emotional picture of what she is experiencing.
Finally, you name the exact image she is thinking of. Because you reveal the sensory details first, this plays perfectly as a genuine reading of her thoughts and memories, rather than a puzzle where a card is named.
You will know the exact image they were thinking of almost instantly. The book is where they put five years of routines: telepathy, prediction, design duplication, pre-show, close-up, and stage. Tannen's once called the contents the "distilled result of thousands of performances."
You get the full original set, unused. The printed Depicting Thoughts book. Two sealed picture-card decks. The Mnemonic Leafs booklet. The bookmark gaff with the images. The postcard of the images in random order. Special cards & bonus cards.
Key Points:
- Plays effectively for both close-up and stage performances.
- Can be used for telepathy experiments, predictions, design duplications, hypnotic suggestions, and pre-show routines.
- The included lamintaed postcard can be freely handed to spectators.
- The cards feature slick stock and a satin surface, printed in blue ink, and are wider than poker size so they do not look or feel like standard playing cards.
