This is an original RARE! WW2 Lockheed P-38 Lightning Fighter Type IFF Contactor Gauge Instrument. It is a Contactor Unit 608 A. IFF stands for indicator friend or foe. This device was used to identify that this aircraft was an allied aircraft. This IFF contactor was also used in the P-51, P-47, P-40, etc. It is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 5 inches. This is the famous P-38 Lightning that was flown by the very high scoring ace Dick Bong. The P-38 also shot down the Betty bomber carrying Admiral Yamamoto. This is a very rare aircraft today with only a few still airworthy. These items are being sold as is for the collector.
