Here is a vintage compact circa the 1930's-1940's. It is not marked but is commonly identified as the Foster Lucky Charm compact. The top is covered with 17 little enamel and rhinestone charms. This one has 3 Scottie dogs, Seagull, Anchor, Fish, Lock and Key, Heart with key, old telephone, purse, horn, wishbone, duck, pelican and baseball cap. It opens to reveal the mirror and then there is another compartment for the pressed powder. The compact is empty. The mirror is nice and clear. It is 2.75 inches in diameter. We believe it is made of brass.
Original vintage patina. We did not try to polish it. There is 1 charm missing, the horseshoe as pointed out in the last photo. The latches all work well. There is a little powder residue on the plush powder lid, otherwise empty. Very superficial scratches on the bottom, mostly tarnished. The enamel paint is worn in some spots. We gave you lots of photos to see how fun this piece is.
