GERZ ~ Early Beehive-Bumper WALDENBURG TANKARD (25 Oz.) Limited Edition ~ Germany
Description of item...Here we have a wonderful early model earthenware/stoneware Beehive-Bumper WALDENBURG TANKARD with an arched pewter lid made by GERZ of Germany. It is hand painted with emerald and roseenamel on relief medallions (front medallion = Wallenstein, side medallions = unknown female busts of the 17th-18th century.) Also included is a CERTIFICATE No.4436, with information facts in English on one side,German on the other side.It measures approx. 7-1/4\" high (including the lid) x 4\" in base diameter, can hold up to 25 ounces. It is in excellent maintained (displayed/used) condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, no damage noted...appearing to have never been used...only displayed. The bottom has an applied gold round plaquette which reads, \"LIMITED EDITION ~ GERZ ~ W.GERMANY ~ 1983 / 9 ~ 04436/12000 ~ GARANTED BY (signature?)\" Came from a well cared for private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown., circa 1983-1989. This item weighs approx. 2 lbs., add 2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.
